Didn't mention it in the presentation, but found the book "Microsoft PowerPivot for Excel 2010: Give Your Data Meaning" by Marco Russo and Alberto Ferrari to be a good read for getting up to speed on PowerPivot without needing prior knowledge other than basic Excel skills.
